In 1968, Jean MARSOLLE bought the Carrère distillery, built in 1930, whose production of the grinding workshop did not exceed 3 tons per hour!
In 1975, the “Carrère” Distillery becomes, when bought by his son Alain, the “Rhums MONTEBELLO” and is equipped with new equipment.
Today, at the head of the distillery, we find the 4th generation of MARSOLLE since January 2012. As a worthy heir of a lineage originating from Charentes, settled in Guadeloupe as soon as the French arrived on the island, Grégory, Alain’s youngest son, takes over the controls left by his father and intends to maintain the tradition. He takes over the family business with his brother Dominique MARSOLLE.
The latter is in charge of the technical management of the factory, but also as Cellar Master. He continues the know-how that his uncle Christian MARSOLLE taught him.
The reputation of Montebello Rum is well established!
